Adam, what you need to do is make each of your hard drive partitions half of their current size. Since these partitions will be smaller, you will be able to squeeze them into smaller spaces. This will allow you to locate them closer to your motherboard. You will also have twice as many partitions, but since you have twice as many leads, it shouldn't be a problem.

Whoever decided sending me 2 cables would be equivalent to 1 big one is obviously a big FAT d*ckHEAD 
The price of cables hardly RAIDed my bank account, but this is the kind of thing that shouldn't happen in a country like (200)GB... If I was prone to self-terminatory ideas I might have turned into a JUMPER after receiving the wrong cables. Perhaps I should ring up and DISCuss this matter with them.
Oh s*d it, I'll just leave a (Seagate) BARRACUDA in their bed.
