Hi all, just wondering which wires go where. please see pics and advise. Thanks in advence,
Its usually on the coverI can't see a wiring diagram on the old one, I would guess the blue wire is neutral which is no longer required on new one. Put the neutral in a terminal block or tape up for future use, and just use red and yellow wires. I am sure if you look carefully it will say the blue is N but can't read on picture.
I recall its for the Accelerator resistor, something to do with the Bi metallic strip switchingI don't think that blue is a neutral. That mechanical device would not require it. It's just an 'open' sense position. It still isn't required though. Red in one, Yellow in the other any way round does not matter.

Sure you will find it should be a Neutral. It's still not a Neutral though, or would be a big bang (and blow it off the wall) when room was cold.
Mate asked me to look at his when I was about 15. See the earth has been used in a terminal.
"That's not right" so put earth to earth. Turn it on. BANG.
I'm 44 soon and none the wiser.
