Hi,

we have gas central heating in our apartment and everything was working fine last year but not the thermostat seems to be stuck at a maximum of 18 or 19 degrees and even though the apartment will be cold if we turn it beyond 19 (say 25) then the radiators don't get hotter.

Do you have any idea why this might be? We had a plumber around recently and he said he had to "rebalance" the radiators as one was not getting as hot as the others and I think it's since then that this is happening.

Any help would be great.

Thanks.

Yeah going to get him back alright but just wondered if there's anything that might be obvious before I do.

Thanks

I take it this is the room stat you are turning up?

if so it never will make the rads get any hotter, it just makes them stay on longer. (so that the room gets up to the temp set) you wnat to turn the boiler stat up to get rads hotter.

also check for drafts, adequate insulation etc

I don't know much about a boiler stat? Should this be obvious to identify by looking at?

Thanks for the help.
