Ive noticed that a significant number of people who bang on about "anti-UK" are often actually anti-truth and dont so much want to rewrite history as erase it.

Yes years of mismanagement and poor direction.

Tories came to power and decided that they couldn't be arsed to think long term and turn them into profitable businesses, that doesn't make headlines. Also the unions had too much power and needed to be reigned in.

The quick and easy answer to build back the UK purse and squash the unions as fast as possible was to flog everything,

That's rubbish, it's just as much as a crisis in Europe as it is in the UK.

The UK would actually be ok, but a number of platforms aren't producing gas at the moment because of planned shutdowns happening now as they had to postpone maintenance programs during the pandemic due to insufficient bed space on the rigs due to social distancing rules.

Spain has had to jump in and force energy suppliers to cut prices.
