The pertinent question should be - does a murderous nut-job, that is intent on killing no matter what, have an easier job of it whilst living in the USA? Yes.

Every other house in predominantly Red states has guns. Some possess many guns of varying flavours and calibres. Lots of ammo too.

Not especially, no. Imagine a sulky loner with very few friends. Sulky loners in the UK would have a hard time locating guns and ammunition. They practically trip over them in the US.
