I realise that was very simplic. But that's the world we live. Greed.

Docters this morning. Got a prescription. Buying it direct over counter cheaper.
Thus us nuts and could be controled

Not sure what point you are making. The GP has no incentive to prescribe you more than is required - he doesn't get a kick back like in the US.

The prescription is there for controlled medicines and to control the price of a medicine. If you could get the med over the counter you could have skipped the visit to the GP and seen a prescribing pharmacist.

In the US you would find even over the counter medicines are ridiculously prices - Tylenol is paracetamol which costs about $5 in the US and about 50p in the UK.

that is that Big Pharma with their lobbyists can buy votes and legislation.

Guns and NRA is a good example of this in operation, even thousands of unnecessary deaths and worldwide media coverage of mass shootings isnt enough to make politicians tell the truth.

I beginning to think children should be taught in schools: 'dont listen to what the media says, just look which way the money flows -thats where the truth is'.

Surely for the American government and the insurance company's to lean on the these drug company's would be good for the American economy and less for the insurance company's to pay out..

What I mean by this is prevention is better than cure. The patients get the right medication in the first place to prevent any more medical treatment.. A fitter healthier workforce is good for the country.

OK the drugs company's earn less. But less than a fortune is still a fortune. They can afford it
That's not how things work in The US.

For example, getting doctors to prescribe addictive drugs means more business for the drug companies.
They don't care about anything else.

No.... The pharmacist would not have my records and I don't know what's she's going give me.

What a lovley caring girl. (Docter)
Shame she's moving up north to be with her husband.

I found in Australia everthing was a club. You got passed from eye specialist to foot specialist to a cat scan. They do look after you but I think it is a bit of back handers going about.

In the US you will find in many cases your doctor either owning or getting a commission for every patient they send to get their bloods checked, scans etc. You would think free market would result in fairer outcomes and pricing, but this is based on the fallacy of efficient markets hypothesis.

It all depends what its for - they have a small controlled list of what they can prescribe and not knowing what you went in for.
