If the red brick walls of a 1930s house have just recently had the mortar repointed, is it a good idea to coat the wall and mortar in a coat of Thompsons WaterSeal Ultra?
Obviously it'll help to keep out moisture, which is good, perhaps though it might reduce the ability of the house walls to "breathe", if that's something a wall requires?
If applied, presumably a period of time (weeks) should be allowed to ensure the mortar has thoroughly dried.
