Hi,
My front door is raised with steps already in place; I'm going to do a full timber porch with external timber walls, I have the full spec of this but rather than building walls up etc I was thinking of doing a deck similar to what the Americans do with pier footing for the floor and then do the damp membrane and build up the walls my issue is I can't find much information on the pier footing and what load bearing weight the footings will take.
The porch is only 1500mm x 3000mm so I was thinking on the 3000mm side use 3 x pier footings as the other side will be bolted to the house but sat on the existing steps also, would you say this is ample enough or do you have any other ideas to save building the wall etc up to door level?
Thanks
