Would appreciate some thoughts from anyone OFTEC registered on what appears to be a bit of a bodge job on a neighbour's new installation.

Very much bodge it and scarper.
Insulation very poorly done should also have been insulated through wall, unless they have moved the condensate trap access to it will be very difficult.
Oil line/fire valve capillary power in scruffy lots of ready made holes in Grant boilers without cutting more plus the cut hole required a grommet.
Should also point out oftec registration is not a legal requirement registering instalation with building control is.

Thanks @Exedon, that was my feeling. Should the installer register with building control or is that down to the householder? Does that normally entail a visit to the installation?

@Nozzle, presumably so although no sign now. I think that was added after they left.

Registration is down to installer should be included in price.
That boiler looks like a Grant vortex pro it should be registered with Grant by installer,.
Assuming the installer is Grant G1 registered the boiler warranty will be extended to 10 years .
That's if it's been installed to manufacture instructions and is service annually.
