3500 profit from being turned away by christians kind of ironic seeing as jesus was turned away he also got a good result in the short run

This was on the radio today ,the outcome of the trial of the christian b and b owners getting stung for £3500 for not letting a gay couple share a room in their b and b on religious grounds, I am amazed how seriously people can take them selves ,they are obviously quite advantaged and have access to legal help.

Christians are also being turned down as prospective foster parents. Here in Derby there was a couple last year were turned down because of their strong religious beliefs. ( I think somewhere along the lines of their attitude towards gays) Might as well become a heathen.

On a brighter note. At least two women have been saved.

Why didn't they just go elsewhere. Why make a fuss???

£3500 ? The world's gone bonkers.

My thoughts too, also on the news today death squads on the streets in syria snatching people at will at the side of that how can you take yourself that seriously I'm sure theres been greater injustice that never got a look in

Making a fuss was the right thing to do

Why though????

Why not just say 'up yours' and move on.

It does nothing at all for the sympathy vote. They just made themselves look vindictive nobs.

Making a fuss is how social change happens, someone acts like a prick, you point it out to people, etc.

Suing people isn't how social change works, it's just self satisfaction and greed.

Women's rights, repealing race laws etc didn't happen because of someone suing, it happens because of people making a fuss.

Also when you make a fuss, people can generally tell you to shut up if you are wrong.
