Hi

We bought our current house 6 years ago, this came with an open plan consevatory attached to the dining room. Recently we have noticed a few cracks and dints in one side of the plasterboard. Upon investigations we have been told that the consevatory is coming away from the house and that it looks like it wasn't tied in when installed.

Any ideas on how this can be fixed, how much approx and will this be a big job. Also anything we could do in terms of previous owners, surveys, conservatory company etc would be very welcome!

Thank you!!!

You have no claim against anyone ... you bought the house 'as is'

You need to be certain if there are really no ties, or if it is tied with a proprietary system and you are just noticing movement

And then you need to determine if this is slight seasonal movement or something more progressive

Only then will you know what type of tying in is appropriate, and what if any other work is needed

And then you can think about costs
