Just wanted a few points of view as to the need for a tile crease with a brick on edge on a 9" retaining garden wall, i know it is not a must ,and to be honest it would suit me better not to have one as i need to incorporate a brick step at the top course, just wondered if i will regret not doing one, will probably go for a semi engineering brick if i can find a decent faced one. cheers

not essential but can help protect the wall. it will certainly preserve the cosmetic appearance of the wall, protecting the surface from moss and stain build up. the wall would definitely benefit, if the courses below the crease are porous.
