I want to fit two large mirrors (1100mm x 800mm and 700mm x 800mm) to a new bathroom wall to form a corner mirror arrangement over a vanity top. The remainder of the walls will be tiled full height and with a 1 tile depth splashback between the vanity unit and the mirrors.

What is the best way to secure the mirrors to the wall - mirror screws or adhesive? And tile first witha gap for the mirror or fit the mirrors and tile round them?

The bathroom will be tiled by a tradesperson as part of the build. Would he normally be able to fit mirrors as part of the tiling operation or is it regarded as specialist? I can get the mirrors supplied, cut and drilled (if necessary) locally.

Of course, any competent tile person could fix your mirrors.

Almost any kind of mirror could be used - multi mirror fixings are available but best to keep it simple.
Custom mirrors would be expensive i should imagine, but i dont know.

CRL do a lot of Glass / Mirror fittings - http://www.crlaurence.co.uk/adv/eu/crl/index_uk.html. Search for "mirror". They also do silicone for fixing mirrors.

If you fix the mirrors first they may get damaged so I'd say leave a hole and fix later - make a template maybe or just mark it on the wall - do any chasing for electric if necessary before you tile.

If you buy a standard size then get it now so that you know the exact size and the tiler can centre any cuts (a std size mirror may not work to a full tile).

Remember to allow for trim in your sizing if you frame the mirror within the tiles.

Even I had done like that. Means I left the hole first to avoid any kind of damage to mirror.
