 Tile to bath rim, or tile wall then install bath ? I've checked previous answers -- no definitive answer. How would a ' master tiler ' instruct his apprentice on this issue ?

You can get tile trims that meet from the tile on to the bath. So install bath, tile down to bath edge, then fit the tile trim, sealing with a suitable silicon sealent.

if you dont want to bodge it, tile the walls and floors then put in the bath.
seen too many bathrooms where the silicone has secretly failed and joists/studs rotted away behind.

Why bother with a trim if you have to seal it with silicone anyway? :?
