Tiling around wall mounted taps

How is this done? :?

I am considering wall mounted taps, but as an afterthought, considered how you tile it? Sorry for the dumb question. Either a hole cut in the tile to let it through or cutting out part of the tile? If it is the latter would probably just go with normal mounted...

You can cut the hole in the tile, but the chances are that the holes may well be required at the sides
