Probably the dumbest question but what is the best order of things when fitting out the bathroom?

Do you tile the floor before fitting the bath etc or after?

Do you tile the walls before or after fitting the bath etc?

Thanks..

Depends on what you mean by bath etc

once you have done all your first fix

1) Install bath
2) Tile floor
3) Tile walls
4) Install basin & WC pan/cistern

It can be done both ways but if the bath is against a wall then it's easier to get a seal to the wall if the tiling is done with the bath in place - the tiles can overlap the bath lip.

Not tiling under the bath saves tiles but on my last bathroom I tiled the complete floor and tanked all the wet areas to get a waterproof floor and bath area - all the water & waste pipes exit via walls rather than floors.
