Hi guys-im a complete novice so need some advice,i need to tile over one hot and one cold water pipe both are about 1.5 m long and are about 100 mm apart,is it ok to tile so close to pipes that the tile is almost touching or will the tile possibly crack from the heat?

Tiles are fired at extremely high temperatures, so a pipe at about 50-60°C will not bother them in the slightest.

Are you boxing the pipes in?

The tile won't crack, but if your are tiling over and its very close to the pipes the grout may due to the continuous expansion and contraction of the substrate due to the heat from the hw pipe.
