tiling on a damp wall

hi, ive decided to tile a wall in my kitchen,its currently got wallpaper on which is peeling off it has mould on and is slightly damp
and anyone please tell me if tiling will be ok.or is there any kind of treatment short of an expensive damp course that i could use.

Clean any mould off the walls and tile using a POWDERED tile adhesive.
I say to use a powdered adhesive because pre-mixed tub adhesive needs to dry out for it to set. So if your walls are a bit damp, it'll take ages for it to go off (set). Powdered adhesive sets by chemical reaction so it will be ok in this instance.
You may end up with slightly damp looking grout in some areas though.
