Hi,

I am moving a radiator and so need to run some additional pipework under the concrete floor (existing pipes in the concrete).

I want to box in these pipes and have brought some timber to do this (19mm * 100mm). I was wondering would I be able to tile on top of this timber if I prime it with Cementone SBR. I have flexible tile adhesive.

I know I would ideally use WBP plywood but would I be okay for such a small strip?

Many thanks

To box-in or run pipes in the floor are two different kinds of installations.

Presumably you will channel the concrete, and cover the channel with wood of some kind? There are other ways of running pipe in concrete.

Perhaps a pic of the area to be covered by a board? I'm assuming that you are channeling tight to a wall?

Its no good talking about tiling before knowing what, and where, you are intending to tile

Correct, I have channeled the concrete and will build a box to surround the pipes and put this in the channel.

Yes, channeling tight to a wall.

I have sampled this by mixing some adhseive and sticking a small tile to the board both with and without sealant.

In both instances it has GRIPPED with venom.

Conclusion: Tiles do stick to adhesive!!! AND WELL!!!
