I have an internal load bearing wall being taken out to be replaced with a steel that is being installed 'into' the ceiling to achieve a constant ceiling height. Plan is as below. Any issues?
Have you thought about how you will support the wall above and the disruption to both upstairs rooms?
Looking at your image, shows the upstairs flooring across the surface of the steel. Am I right in thinking this beam is only supporting the floor joists and there is no wall above? If so ignore the first sentence above.
I would remove at least a metre section of ceiling in both rooms and fit the support plank directly to the joist bottoms to ensure the joists are evenly propped.
