Because of a scheduling mismatch, a new stair nosing we've ordered will not arrive until 3 weeks after the scheduled start date to refinish our floors (red oak parquet). The flooring specialist says it's ok to leave the floor sanded but unvarnished for the 3 weeks until the nosing arrives, but I wonder if this is really ok - the house is not air conditioned and subject to outside changes in moisture levels.
