i have to say... i didn't watch it... but caught the voting, and got a bit involved with Wogan's sarcasm....

but they should play the song without teling you which country sang it.... then voted for song number 1 or 2 or 3 etc... but they won't..... what a waste...!

That'd be a good starting point, but I would imagine neighbouring countries would know what its neighbour's songs were.
Having said that... anything else is better than what we currently have.

Absolute rubbish of a contest. I watched it all..... sad I know, but it's the Wogan factor, and seeing is believing. As Imamartian said, it ain't about the song. It used to be, but like everything else nowadays connected to Europe, it's either a fiddle or a fudge.

Do you thnk that, by the way the votes go, i.e. UK finishing bottom, or near the bottom, in the last few years, that the general feeling in Europe towards us is reflected by that ? Or is the voting for neighbouring countries just to keep the peace ?? I can't see the point in us entering...... caught the back end of the voting, makes me chuckle when the presenters from each country blow smoke up the hosts *rse

Never been a fan of Eurovision, it’s not my kind of music but after listening to Wogan for a few minutes had to stay with it as I though he was hilarious; I just couldn’t believe how much he was taking the p**s & it got even worse once the voting started; the stuff international incidents are made of! As for the contest itself, we should now leave it to the Eastern Block countries to get on with, they obviously have no intention of ever letting a Western Europe country ever win the competition again & the chances of even getting through the qualifying rounds seem to be slim; they also have no taste in music!

You've got to let them win something - what else have they won in their history?

We should keep entering singers and groups like Jenesis, from a couple of years ago......... if we go down, go down in flames of cheesiness I say

NIL POINTS

Nearly all of the "songs" were sung in English, even most of the French entry, and most of the presenters from each country spoke in English. The French presenter got his own back and spoke in his own language.

Of late, the contest is based on the crappest, cheesiest song being the most liked by our uncultured neighbours.

In this case, Spain should have won this year.

Am am also surprised that with so many east Europeans now living here, we cant knock up a stupidly bland, poxy song and romp away with the trophy next year.

The actual show was, as usual, rubbish. But Wogans' comments were excellent

what i dont understand is the moaning afterwards, why enter in the first place? then they'll be no advertising revenue from this country who'll finance the big sets etc? Its in its death throes as a competition and i think the organisers will start to realise they need to change things once their finance starts dropping.

Wassermarrer with you lot, no pubs in your area.

The choice was quite easy, Wogan or pub. 8)

Eurovision....who gives a rats ass who won.

It's not a music competition, it is more like a way for countries to informally say what they think about other countries. :D
