I have a window which opens outwards (hinged at the left), which also slides along runers (top and bottom) so it can be "turned around" for cleaning from the inside.

My problem is that for a while the handle (which turns from the horizontal position, anticlockwise to the pointing down position) has been very stiff - to close the window in the locked position.

Now I can not manage to pull the handle down at all so is in effect not locked securely !

Does anyone have any suggestion as to how to solve the problem?

Thanks in advance.

lightly oil all visible and any you can reach metal mooving parts
with wd 40 if youve got it wipe off any excess

do not oil any tracks where the plastic pads rub on

im sure someone will come allong with a more upvc freindly oil

but at least it might allow you to secure the window
