To Convert pigsties?

Two pigsties near the house (5m) , thinking of converting them into single storey annexe accommodation. 36m sq, is this big enough for accommodation, or should it be left as it is?
currently used to store wood and tools etc.

That's just short of the national guidelines for a 1 bed flat (37m^2). AFAIK they aren't legally binding in any way so you'd be creating a slightly pokey place but not absurd. If it's just an annex to the main property (eg laundry facilities are shared) then it seems perfectly reasonable.

What sort of construction are they anyway, are they worth retaining
