Hello, appologies if this thread doesnt belong in this section, or even this site but I thought there would be some good opinions from the members.

I have a garage that you cant fit anything but a small car in by reversing, as its at 90 degrees to the drive and too tight to swing a car in.

The dilema is do I leave it as I dont intend putting my car in it and just use it to store all my crap. Or bearing in mind the house is going up for sale in a few months, do I knock down one side and widen it by about three foot and shorten it slightly so a car can fit in and even do a three point turn into it allowing you to exit the drive in a forward gear which you currently cant do either. The labout will cost nothing as i'm a bricklayer just the cost of foundation (about 16 ft length) and roof and time. And building regs.

What would you do?

Keep it and leave it.
Hardly anyone use the garage for cars any more. And if your potential purchase do want it as a overnight park. Then let them do it. But it does have a value as a store or workshop and you said you could at a squeeze get a vehicle in it, so still a garage.

People with expensive cars can get a reduced insurance premiums if their car is kept in a garage, so a car friendly garage might be a selling point.

Only my opinion again but if the garage is small and difficult to access then it's even more unlikely to be used as such.
However, as an outdoor store or kids Wendy house it could have appeal!
John :)

Yes, don't do any work, just make it look pretty. If you extend it you will not get your money back on the sale. You will get different types of buyers: some will have a man who wants to use it as a DIY place (sorry for sexism but true), someone else may want to convert to a bedroom. Some people realise the value of a junk storage area. Someone may want to make it into a music room. Don't do anything that will restrict your market for buyers. Anything you do will probably cost far more than anything you could add to the asking price.
