You should not apply any topical cream/treatment to the area of the incision without first taking advice from your doctor.
There is a trade off between fast healing and healing slowed down by topical treatments or things such as hydrocoloid dressings and that is scarring. Basically the faster the healing time the greater the scarring. I know this from a few operations including the repair of my extensor tendon on my left index finger (following unplanned DIY surgery with a stanley knife )
For inflammation I would suggest a regular dose of ibuprofen - take 3x day and it will help - if you take irregularly then it may halp with pain but not reduce the swelling so much.
Arnica gel/cream is not meant to be used on broken skin and does not have (AFAIK) any germicidal properties therfore Joe is right in that it could act as a vector for infection. It may also weaken stitches etc.
My golden piece of advice - too late may it be is if you have any option for dissolving/non-dissolving stitches go for non dissolving every time - I've ended up with a couple of bad infections as a result of dissolving stitches not dissolving properly where they are knotted.
well it all went through. hmmm it seems tho i am allergic to local anesthetic, i looked like super teds mate afterwards, itching like no ones business and red rashes all over, not good!
doctor gave me a shot of piriton mixed with something took 10 mins but it started to go down then, all gone now
tell you what tho while he was doing his job i was itching like an ants nest was on me, but far too scared to move!!!
thanks for all advice etc, i was very nervous but its a doddle!
It's just the straining when you move that is painful from now on. You'll get great sex for the next week or two. All the nerves are all jangled up. I tried to get it done twice it was that good.
