Just thought that this find would be of intrest to the forums regular sparks i know its silly but i got all excited at this find, I love finding stuff like this in houses its like uncovering a bit of the history of electrical installations.

I have found in the past in other houses the original cardboard boxes the Crabtree "Jacelite" switches where supplied in, Ive kept these and i will upload pictures soon.

Yes, it is interesting finding old parts of an installation. Some bits I like to leave in (disconnected) under the floor for someone to discover many years later.

Sparkwright are you naughty or provoking?
Streetlighter we love to see wrong, old, unusual - please keep posting them.

No, I like old fittings, and techniques and that. Houses are time capsules.

We like pictures.

Perhaps SF is unfamiliar with the custom on DIY not where pro's and DIY'ers alike post pictures of all kinds of installations and electrical-related stuff good, bad and indifferent.

This provides interest for all: a talking point for the pro's and visual reference for the DIY'ers.

His unfamiliarity surprises me, given the time he has spent here.

I too enjoy electrical porn. Keep the pics coming. I take pics of my finds aswell with the intention of posting them here for comments.
In ref to your pic - it often amazes me what people will leave underfloors and when I come across such an install I wonder if it was done as paid work or a keen DIYer.
