I thought you would like to admire this neat installation of a four-way trailer extension outside a building.

I saw this today outside a very smart (I know that's not apparent from the picture) conference centre in North Somerset. The door stile has been bored to allow the flex to pass through.

What worries me is that the installer hasn't put a drip loop in the flex, so that corner of the door is liable to rot. Apart from that, I don't see much else wrong with it.

A four gang extension lead outside* a building and the only thing that concerns you is lack of a drip loop?

*assuming outside is external and open to the elements.

No, Rocky, he used the stile not the frame.

At least yours fitted a gland.

rocky, is that photo real? its just the blue line looks almost (no, very - its see-through) photoshopped. And whats with the white blotch on the brickwork where there might have been a white flex / conduit box which would supply this appliance? And that funky green thing on the door? Again, looks like its been drawn on a computer or something.

Xerves , what is a stile
Ah stiles and rails make the door 8)
May have been the same person then

steve
I took the pic feb o8, it was some sort of refridge trailer, it looked like a steel covered door.it appeared to be blue artic going into a 16a comando plug in socket.
It is at the back of a shop where you walk from the spires shopping centre to the car park in barnet hertfordshire.
I did not look too close, because of security cameras,
The funky green thing looks to me like steel and roofing bolts proberly reinforcing some bracket inside the door, perhaps for a security bar inside

"In woodworking, a stile is part of a frame and panel construction technique using two vertical boards that, together with the horizontal rails, make up a paneled door, sash window or chest of drawers." (Wikipedia definition)

Gary: when I said I saw nothing else wrong it was my feeble attempt at irony. Sorry. Of course I don't think it's harmless to have a trailer extension fixed outside a building (even if it's not permanently plugged in).

And I was there for a safety course ...

Thanks xerves, I had just found it as well and edited the post.
O level woodwork was not much help!

Glad to hear :D
Hope you voiced your opinions then!

I think Rockys pic looks 'dodgy' but that is the effect of Rocky having the shakes from a king size session the night before
