Toilet blocking

we have had a new toilet fitted on the ground floor of our house. The toilet is one of those sealed button flush types, which support two buttons. One for a smaller amount of water and the other button gives a full flush. The waste pipe is connected through the ground into the drain system.

Unfortunately, the toilet regularly blocks! When working ok, after the flush, we hear air trying to get into the bowl of the system.

Any ideas what could be causing this and what remedial action to take.

Thanks

Was the old toilet cemented down? If so you may find the plumber has lost a lump of cement down the waste hole when he was cutting it out.

Hm, the only way to figure out whether cement is causing the problem is to remove the loo and check the drainage properly.

I have noticed the toilet tries to "breathe" ie get air at the end of the flush. What is the meaning of this activity?

We have had 2 plumbers look at the toilet. One says fit a DURGO valve. The other disagrees and feels the flush may not be powerful enough!

So, will keep you all updated, as this saga develops.
