Our shop is a small hairdressers, single storey detached building. We've just finished doing some remodelling inside the shop also changing the access to the toilet. You can now get access direct from the shop and not have to go outside. My question is should the toilet now have an entrance hall before the toilet or is it okay for the door to open direct?

your thoughts please..

No, there is no requirement for the basin to be in the same room as the toilet under b/regs.

There may be a requirement under other regulations relating to commercial premises/operations though

Yes there is. AD G 2010: 4.15 and 4.17.

No there is not ... if you read it correctly :p

And I would presume that the OP's hairdressers has a basin in there somewhere
