I have just fitted a NEW side entry valve that came with my new cistern, it fills up nice and quite until it gets to when its going to shut the valve off, thats when it starts to Judder and make a lot of noise.

I have tried turning down the water pressure but it made no difference.
I cant return it as it was bought as part of a package online.

Its simular to a Fluidmaster Valve.

Any fixes for this before I go out and buy another one?

I assume you have reduced the flow rate - unless you've fitted a PRV you won't be able to reduce the pressure.

Have you fitted the pressure reducing insert(s) supplied with the product?

Sorry - only just noticed that you said "similar to a fluidmaster"

Possibilities:

1) Valve unable to handle the pressure - are you mains or tank fed?

2) Air trapped somewhere - try opening and running cold bath & basin taps

3) Can't really help - don't know which valve you've got!

Before you replace, try stripping it down to make sure it was assembled properly and mainly that the seals are properly formed and seated.

Now and then I find fittings assembled in a hurry that don't work 100% until a seal or washer just a little bit out of place is re-seated. sometimes a tiny bit of plastic flash may interfere.

Edit:
Not wishing to bump the post the OP can also give a link to the item he bought as it was online
