I'm hoping to remove the toilet to fit some new flooring, but will I need to replace anything to refit to get a good seal on the waste?

ok thanks, its just we only have the one toilet and need to be prepared! I had read something about a wax seal, but maybe ours is not that type?

If the current flooring is cut around the pan then whatever the thickness of the new flooring is it will raise every pipe connection by that thickness. ie soil pipe and cistern feed pipe which looks to be solid copper(?)

Wax seal is only used in the U.S You could get a new" pan connector "over here

I prefer the Mcalpine Mac 1 ones ( not long concertina flexi one) The Mac 1 type have more "give " so the small increase in height should be taken up. No sealant needed.

Thanks for the info, I will replace it to be on the safe side as I would say it has been in a long time.
