I need to remove the toilet seat from the pan and can’t seem to remove the bolts holding it.

I’ve tried screwing them out and it won’t work.

Any ideas would be a great help!

Pliers, to turn the wing nut - they are usually well rusted and need cutting, but that looks like stainless steel. When you refit, try to use a thick rubber washer + a steel/brass one, under the wing nut.

They look like from the top fittings 'wing nut' is like a toggle fitting that goes in from the top of toilet and tightens up into hole, usually used in back to the wall toilets.
Take off the seat and the fittings cover and you should have access to screw head .

it doesnt look like there is enough room to turn those wing nuts? so if that is the case then they must have been tightened from the top.

Looks like it’s a quick release toilet seat, you normally have to take the seat off, remove the chrome discs and the screw will then be visible
