Toilet Seat

Can someone please help, have just moved into my flat and want to change the toilet seat as old one disgusting! Has anyone ever seen a toilet seat like this one, the back of the toilet is all enclosed, have got no idea how to get it off! The toilet itself has Pura Imex on the side.

Check behind the pan, under the hinge part. There will be a couple of nuts to undo, but if they're steel they'll probably be rusted.

What is that little tab showing on the left as we look? Could be a sealing strip if it`s rubber but could be a release tab if it`s plastic. Last resort is the hacksaw blade.

Hi, thanks for the reply. It’s all enclosed behind the toilet so you can’t get to any fixings underneath, what’s on the photo is all we have ‍

Mmmm nice You'll get your money back from ebay for that one
Maybe Youtube could come to your assistance, but most seats like that are held on with an 'expanding bolt' system that is rubber coated and expands into a hole in the ceramic as you tighten a screw. Often the plastic clips in place, one way or another.
Anyway, that doesn't help much but as the seat looks like it may be a little loose, squirt some WD40 down the locating holes then gently lever the thing up with a broad blade screwdriver.
Protect the pan - you don't want to chip it - and steady as you go.

It’s standard seat fitted to enclosed pan ( it’s wrong seat type for concealed fixing). Seat must have been fitted before pan was pushed back to wall . But your in luck as they used nylon fittings , easily cut away with hacksaw blade , masking tape to side of bolt to avoid scratching and use short strokes for same reason .Maintain upward pressure on seat with free hand to prevent bolts spinning . Then get replacement seat with concealed fixings .

Any chance you could slide the seat sideways to release the fixing tab at either end?
