I have a new compact close coupled toilet to replace my existing toilet in my utility room which will take up less space I will need to move the soil pipe connection a few inches closer to the wall to get my new toilet to fit is this a DIY job or should I get a plumber in ? Any constructive advice would be appreciated.

That may prove difficult for a couple of reasons:

That’s not a soil pipe, but a drain connection
Floor would likely need to be dug up to alter it

Probably best creating a stud wall, or just batten the cistern.

The reason I want to do it is to create more space in front of toilet so a stud wall etc would defeat the object

MCALPINE made adaptor enabled me to move back to wall.

I will save 185mm with new toilet fitted my problem is I have a door at front of toilet so not much left room at the moment when sitting on the throne the back wall of toilet is an outside single brick wall

All toilets ar different. In a situation like yours id be looking for a compact toilet.
There are some very long toilets out there. So think small.

After studying your photo of the new pan, I think a swan neck connector will probably do the job and if a small gap between the cistern and wall exists, panel it out.

Never seen a fitting like that ! have you got a number for it ? I think our know everything USA MAGA fiend will know all about it

One of these was perfect for a job last week. This paid for storing the thing for the last five years.

However it was the perfect product for the perfect finish.

Yes the replacement toilet in the photo has a projection of 555mm back to front edge one of the smallest I could find

Then you can only do what you can do.
Buy and try the Swan neck first. If this doesn't work then maybe do what I suggest

The "question mark" style of pan connector is common, but what skilldugboggery is this??

Is that part of the Back -to - wall kit???
