I wasn't charged with anything. Nor was I read my rights or cautioned at any point.

Granted, other than the pain in my wrist, which eventually abated after a few weeks and a black cab journey which equalled the monetary value of my alcohol consumption, and the time wasted in the cell, yeah, it wasn't a major deal. I just don't like bullies.

Sorry. But how did you get from the police car to the cell. Surely you were booked in via the custody officer who told you why you were detained?
