Tongue in cheek, I think!! (Democracy is the problem)

Here we go, Breaking news :- after absorbing the chancellors budget, credit agency Fitch puts UK economy on watch for a downgrade. What chance Osbourne's survival. They just cant see it can they. C,mon your majesty your country needs you now.

We need another housing boom, bring back Labour.

The boom will never return. For an economy to grow we need more and more cheap oil. In 2008 the price of oil peaked - and the world economy crashed. This eased the demand on oil production. As soon as we try to boom - the price will rise and once more the world economy will collapse. Capitalism has reached the end of the line. It's bad news for everyone.

Joe look at the title of the thread then read my post again.

What I said was that if somebody shot them it wouldn't bother me.

What I wanted was:

"Well, I'd put the Royal Family to work on the counter of their local macdonalds, certainly wouldn't let them run anything."

Getting rid of them is absolutely nothing to do with money.
Jeepers chapoo you are dull!
I'm boring but at least i have the good sense to only frequent G.D. on rare occasions.
You on the other hand seem to be unaware of how mundane you really are.

Oil is cheap. Until of course the government slaps nearly 70% tax on it.
Laundered diesel round my way sells for about 80 - 90 pence a litre.

The cleaning process is well perfected now. No harm to engines anymore.

Well i suppose thats it then, everyone come down to Bristol and we can all jump off the suspension bridge into oblivion..

I agree with the OP... democracy is not strong, but it's more acceptable to the human psyche than the enforced options. However, the democratically elected politicians focus on the wrong thing, i.e. winning votes, rather than solving problems...

To be fair, the current lot are having a weak attempt at cutting the deficit and reducing the debt, but they know they're out the door after the next election...

The solution is a 'friendly' dictator.. like Noel Edmonds or Barney Rubble with absolute power.....that'd sort things out !!

That's just me pitching my posts to the understanding of the person I'm responding to

Some form of voter qualification for the next twenty years. "Currently work in private sector" would be a simple test. If you do, you vote.
