Hi All,

I'm just changing out my old wired fuse consumer unit(s) (there are two with a now redundant timer and contactor switching unit, a clunking great 60A RCCD, plus lots of other unnessesry kit) and replacing with a spanking 12 way wirelex.

Anyway, my problem is since there are two exsisting consumer units one set of cables will be too short to reach the new unit and I cant move the unit closer. Any Ideas on the best way to lengthen the cables (connex etc.) ?

Cheers. :D

i would say a big plastic adaptable box with chock blocks or crimps inside is the best bet

do you mean the "tails" (the big cables that supply the cu?)

if you do, change them. best way

Sorry I wasnt clear on this, I mean the circuits not the tails (unfortunatly).

Thanks Pugwash - I wasnt sure if that was the 'done thing', I'll use the chock-a-block in a box
