I doubt it will be any faster or better than a hammer and bolster.

If it is loose then it will just come off in large pieces. If it is soft then the mechanical hammer will just gouge into it.

Also, those tools are too heavy for removing plaster. If you need a mechanical one, then use a 2kg sds drill with roto-stop.

get a hammer head or similar [1/2 fist sized smooth stone] & pass it in light contact over the plaster. a deep sound = all loose to the brick : higher like finger nails over paper = top plaster coat loose
hammer & chisel or or just hammer on the deep sound plaster : sds with 50mm or + blade on sound plaster
