Hi

I probably need to call the installer back, but is anyone aware of a way to adjust the position of the sash within the frame of a new-ish (1 year) Velux top hung roof window? I'm finding it difficult to close on the fully closed lock position and on closer inspection I can see that the sash sits off centre by a few mm. I guess the hinge at the top needs a slight adjustment - is this easy enough to do?

Thanks

Hi Andy,
Velux don't seem to advertise any hinge adjustment. The fitting instructions tell the installer to fit the sash and adjust the frame (with a crowbar!) to centre the sash in the frame. The bad news is this is all done before the top frame screws are driven in. I'd guess to adjust a few tiles and some of the flashing would need to be removed to gain access to the frame screws.

Adjustment procedure at 5:02 on this Velux video:

And on Page 11 of the Installer's Handbook:

Hope that helps a bit..

Cheers,
L.A.

Bringing back this old thread because mine sounds exactly the same as andyc2000's - was wondering andy if you ever got this sorted and what you did? thanks.

You can only adjust it by removing the tiles and packing up the hinge at one side slightly to centralise the sash before putting the tile back on.
