Towel radiators - any good?

Don't, whatever you do, buy one on eBay, unless it's a brand name that you can get elsewhere. There's a lot of sh*te around.

I think you have quite a job on your hands to find ladder radiators at the efficiency you require and at that price. You may find that the valves alone cost £30 plus. Having said that, I bought my Chelmsford ladder radiator by Ultraheat after a lot of research it was the cheapest on the web (See next message form me!). I am not sure if you want chrome or white, but have attached this link, the prices for white Chelmsford look to be within your budget...but you may need two towel rails to meet your btu requirements. Good luck. Let us know how you get on.

Me again.
This is the ACTUAL site where I purchased my towel rail. But I can't seem to get any stock or pictures from their Ultraheat link. Maybe Designer-Warmth have stopped doing them. You may have more luck. The service was good and they delivered when they said they would.

This site was cheaper than the Ultraheat site!

In sh*te do you mean their output or their lifespan?

I'm actually watching a couple at the moment which have rather good btu ratings. They are 'Heatwave'

I wouldn't actually know a brand name if it bit me on the bottom

Here's the spec anyway:

# This product is brand new in original box
# This is a high quality product from a trustworthy manufacturer
# Plating: copper + 3 layers nickel +40 microns of chrome thickness!
# 21 horizontal rails divided into 4 sections of 3, 5, 5, 8
# The distance between pipe centres is 550mm
# 1805 btu heat output
# Tested to BS EN 442-1 and BS EN442-2 standards
# Supplied adjustable wall brackets, blanking plug and air vent plug
# Valves can be purchased in our eBay shop for only £12.99 a pair
# This radiator can also be electrically heated.
# Complete with 5 Years Guarantee

A well-framed question - I meant lifespan. Also build quality, and strength of fixing brackets.
