Hi

I am laying 60x40x1.2 travertine tiles onto a screeded floor with an underfloor heating mat. The floor is 22m2.

The underfloor heating matt instructions state that a 6mm notched trowel should be used to spread the adhesive into the floor and then to cover the mat.

I have two questions - what type of trowel should I use to spread the adhesive on top of the heating mat - should it be a 10mm square notch?

How many 25kg bags of adhesive would I need to do the whole job.

Thanks for any help.

I'd use a 20mm half round notched trowel. 20 kg of powdered floor adhesive gets you about 4 sq metres so for your 22 sq metres I'd say 5 x 25kg bags will do it.
