Hi All,

Hope somebody can help, i have a digi and i am looking at connecting up some external PIRs on there own panel and that panel trigger a spare input on the existing Digi so i can look at my CCTV.

The existing digi is powered of the existing alarm so i will probably have problems when trying to connect a trigger. I thought of doing it like this

New Panel Connect Neg -Ve Trigger to Pin 4
From Digis power Connect a wire from 0v to the 0v on the new panel, I take it this will give me a common negative

Is there any other way to do it ie with a relay ?
What type of relay would i need ?

Thanks for the help

Hi,

Your post has interested me, insofar that you feel you have a need for two control panels. As far as relays go, just about anything is possible so there are no problems there, but I would appreciate a bit more information about your current setup. You have a Digi which I assume is sending a signal to a ARC or else you have a programmer and using it to program your own eproms.

You are correct in grounding, since the digi usually requires a +5V trip or thereabouts on each channel. This may prove to be the simpler method but I am concerned about 'cross talk' where both panels activate at precisely the same time, I may be barking up the wrong tree, but it's at the back of my mind and worth mentioning.

In essence, you want to view your cameras on your T.V. and these are connected to a control panel, if I'm not correct please put me straight. I can't really make a definite comment until I know your 'set up'.

If I am not correct in any of the above assumptions, it would be appreciated if you could let me know.

Thanks.
