tripping mains

gone to turn heating on and the main power RCD keeps tripping -i have isolated the problem to the boiler. If iturn the boiler off at the fused switch on the wall i can reset the RCD and put the power back on no problems
Even if turn the boiler off at the main switch (under flap) when i turn mains back on RCD trips again???

seems strange that it hapened now?

boiler has been fine as it heats the water - this is the first time the hating has gone on though as it cold today - not needed the heating for the last few months - so boiler has been fine.

Had a new fan a year ago

The boiler is an ideal classic

system? not sure - combi boiler in ktchen tank in airing cupboard
