Triton Madrid II - Water stopped coming out!

Hi

This morning (Bloody Christmas Day!) my shower just stopped working. It was fine to begin with and just as I started washing, all water stopped coming out of the shower head. I still have power but just no water. I have read on forums about the possibility of it being the solenoid valve but I have also read that it could be the stabaliser value. Does anyone have any advice/experience?

I am pretty competent and should be able to replace both of these parts looking at instructions but I cant afford to waste time buying and fitting the wrong parts when I could just get a cheap and cheerful new shower.

both of the parts mentioned are £30+ each. Plus however long it takes to obtain them.

However as you can go to Argos tomorrow morning, buy a whole new shower for £60, and be using it by lunchtime, there seems little point in repairing.

If you have no water flow at all, but power to the unit, that usually suggests a solenoid failure.

If you have meter that can test continuity, you can test across the two terminals of the solenoid, if open circuit it has failed.
