I'm in the process of fitting the above unit which i recently purchased. It is fitted on a tiled shower wall, however, the left side does not fit flush to the wall. The electric cable comes through the wall and into the unit from the back. Since it's the left side that houses the electrical connection, i have concerns that water could run down the wall and onto the electrical cable and, although it seems slightly unlikely, somehow on to the electrical connection.

I contacted Triton with the above message and they didn't seem too interested. They just said that the unit should be flush, but that a bit of water down the back of the unit won't penetrate the sealed main part of it. Although that is the case, any water that gets down the back or into the back from the side would certainly run onto the cable. Now, that may not be a problem, but chaos being chaos, water could potential get onto the electrical connection. The gap between the unit and the wall is tiny, mms, nothing huge, but I'm just not sure and slightly concerned that I might get fried instead of clean!

I was just thinking of running bathroom sealant around the unit or something like that.

Does anyone have any other suggestions or opinions?

Thanks :)[/quote]

don't run any silicone round the edge to seal the gap as the shower unit needs to breathe. read the mi should say.

Oh, thanks - I wondered if there might be something like that to consider. The paperwork provided with the unit doesn't specify anything about that or what to do.

Any other suggestions?
