TRV's and Room Stat

Just wondering about location of new wireless room stat. I have 2 x rads with TRV's in living room, it also has a gas fire but it's not often used.

The Hall is usually cooler and also has a rad with a TRV.

I know room stat should not go in same room as TRV but ideal location is the living area used the most - right? - which in our case is living room!

Should I take head's off TRV and leave them on MAX or mid setting?
