Still doing my loft conversion and my 2 party walls required all the holes filling in. I have bricked the holes up and and want to seal it properly. The BCO says I have to build a stud wall in front of the part walls for fire and sound protection. Im thinking I can prcatise my plastering out because the wall wont bee seen when finished and the layer of plaster will add to the thickness (single brick) of the party walls which will provide better fire and sound insulation.

What do i need to buy? I dont need the skim bit just the slop you put straight on the bricks.

What tools will I need also please and any other tips?

Thanks.

you will need a couple of bags of carlite browning or bonding.
a steel float (trowel).
a hawk.
a slop brush (a large paint brush).
a plastic rub up float.
buckets.
mixing paddle or stick.
a 6 foot straight edge (featheredge).
a derby.
some skill.
soak the wall thoroughly with water.
apply in two coats.
put a nail in the rub float to key the surface of the fist coat.
don't leave it too long between coats.

It's much easier for an amateur to place strips of wood on the walls to give a depth level - then run your straight edge down it.
