Trying to push wall back and create more room.

In process of trying to push wall back ...

Basically trying to squeeze a a foot out of a room ...

Do I need to put a beam in ?

Or can I go half way up on wall ?

Any help thanks a lot.

I assume you mean you're trying to remove the chimney breast?

It's not difficult but it is notifiable - building regs will need to be complied with/structural engineer calcs etc. and messy.

You can't just take a sledge hammer to it and knock that bit away if that's what you're asking. (well, strictly speaking, you could - but there'd be nothing supporting the rest of the stack.)

Also consider you will need to make good afterwards, plastering, skirting boards, flooring etc.
