Turbomax (side door, black with green knobs).

5 1/2 year old Vaillant tmax. Once in a blue moon used to not fire on hw. Now becoming more frequent, four times today apparently, to the point that the gestapo is threatening to get someone in to fix it (oh the shame) if I don't deal with it soon. Now fault finding/repair hasn't been my thing but I guess that's about to change! Over time it has also become rather noisy when the mains is flowing through although temp and flow rate seem ok. So please,
Do I have a diaphram problem?
Could the noise be signs of hw hx scale?
Can I get a copy of the MI's on line?

Possibly. Could also be water in the microswitch on the rhs of the diverter valve. It'll be green, or if a later one, black. The green ones didn't like being peed on by the auto air vent which is above.

Could the noise be signs of hw hx scale?
Yes. If you have hw full flow, say 2 open taps, and there are problems, you'll hear the gas valve ticking every 2-3 seconds or so.

Can I get a copy of the MI's on line?
Yes. You have to register, but...

Thanks for the pointers. Can only get current MI's on Vaillants site to my knowledge. What's the but...............? In the mean time I'll try to get a look at the beastie tomorrow. (And yes I am if you were wondering)!
